Steve is the founding partner of O2 Environment & Engineering, O2 Ecology and Turbid.  He has been instrumental in their respective growth and success, having achieved 3 BRW fastest growing SME awards, 2 Sunshine Coast best practice business awards, as well as a number of environmental and engineering industry awards.  Steve is a principal environmental scientist with 25 years experience specialising in soils and water management primarily in the mining, energy and urban development sectors.  As a fellow partner and executive director of the O2UDP Group, Steve’s current and primary focus will continue to be directed to the strategic growth of the group’s agricultural division.

Peter Watts has over 30 years’ experience in the agricultural industry, with core skills in irrigation and ring tank design, farm mapping, MEDLI modelling and the design and environmental management of livestock facilities. He has also published numerous scientific and technical papers such as “Lot Feeding in Australia” and “Designing Better Feedlots”.

Margaret has over 10 years experience in the consulting and academic industries managing agricultural and environmental projects.  She has undertaken a range of assignments across Australia including feedlot environmental management, design and approvals for feedlots and live export facilities, water acquisition and approval for feedlots and live export, environmental and economic feasibility assessments for agricultural enterprise, land suitability assessments for agriculture and development, water and soil monitoring projects, contaminated land assessments, fauna-spotting contractual management for the CSG industry, and a range of other environmental constraints analyses and impact assessments.  Margaret’s PhD focussed on climatic influences on the genetic diversity and distribution of one of Australia’s most widespread weed species, Cynodon dactylon (Green Couch).

Kimberley has over 10 years experience in the consulting and academic industries managing agricultural and environmental projects.  She has undertaken a range of assignments across Australia and the USA including feedlot environmental management, design and approvals for live export facilities, water and soil monitoring projects, contaminated land assessments and broader environmental management tasks.  Kimberley’s PhD focussed on investigating genetics and physiology of sweet sorghum and Post-Doctoral research into bioenergy sorghum as a biofuel.

Ben is an Environmental Scientist with broad experience across a variety of disciplines.  His main areas of expertise are agricultural and soil science.  Ben’s projects have focussed on soil monitoring, groundwater monitoring and data analysis, investigating carbon smart fertilisers and feed additives for the poultry industry and extensive laboratory experience for the physical, chemical and microbial analysis of soils. Ben has a PhD in Soil Science and is an Adjunct Research Fellow at Central Queensland University.

Tim commenced his employment as an Environmental Engineer with FSA Consulting in March 2014. He has worked on a number of projects funded by MLA and the AMPC. This work included evaluating the composition and volumetric flows of waste streams generated within the Australian red meat processing industry, assisting with the operation of a small/medium scale anaerobic digester and coordinating a laboratory. He has also been the lead designer of two pilot-scale municipal wastewater treatment facilities.

Riki commenced his employment as an Environmental Scientist with FSA in October 2015. His main competencies are in the areas of geotechnical investigation, sample collection and handling and laboratory analysis. Riki has worked on a number of projects funded by MLA, Poultry CRC and the Pork CRC where he helped to develop new techniques for accurately measuring greenhouse gas emissions.

Matt has experience in the Queensland State Government and private sector with environmental regulation, planning assessment and approvals for intensive animal industries. In his role with the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries he built relationships with intensive livestock producers and government agencies across Queensland. Matt is particularly focussed on innovation within the poultry industry.

Lucy Richardson

Lucy has significant experience in the environmental and natural resource management sectors (both consulting and not-for-profit), with strong project management and research skills in the areas of soil, water and vegetation management. She has particular experience in stakeholder engagement, group facilitation and program evaluation. Lucy is currently undertaking PhD research on climate change behaviour through Monash University, with the hope of improving understanding of why individuals adopt certain behaviours in certain situations but not others.
